Testimonials

Mrs. Daun Maier

Bannon Associates was vital in developing and implementing our first Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) in the Diocese of Madison beginning in 2009.  Bill Bannon offered valuable insights and guidance on how to design an overall strategy for introducing an annual giving program at the diocesan level and then providing a solid method for conducting a successful appeal that continues to thrive.

The Diocese of Madison broadened its relationship with Bannon by introducing the Bannon Offertory Program for use in individual parishes.  By introducing this program, based on the principals of stewardship, the Diocese was able to tool parishes with a proven method to invite parishioners to make thoughtful commitments of time, talent and treasure on an annual basis.

“I would recommend Bill Bannon and Bannon Associates to other Dioceses and encourage them to consider Bill as part of their development team.   He is a proven benefit to diocesan advancement.”

I have worked with Bill Bannon at two suburban parishes located near Washington, D.C.  One had 500 households and the other 1,700.  I have had success at both parishes.  The offertory increased by at least 15% at both parishes in the first year. The program is simple to follow and easily understood.  It is also very affordable.  The expense of the program was covered in by the increase in giving the first weekend.

It also helped identify new parishioners. At the current parish, 100 new households made commitments to the offertory.  These families had never previously registered or donated by check.

I highly recommend the Bannon Program.

We began looking for assistance with our Archbishop’s Annual Appeal in 2009. We selected Bannon and Associates because of their proven record in turning around diocesan appeals. From start to finish we were exceedingly pleased with the work Bannon did with us. In our first year we nearly doubled the number of gifts and saw a 40% increase in dollars donated. Eighty percent of our parishes exceeded their goals. Now in our second year, we continue to see increases in every measurable category. The Bannon method works, and Bill brings a vast amount of experience raising funds in Catholic churches and dioceses. He thoroughly understands the nuances of diocesan and church finances and the funding challenges therein.

"Bill understands parishes.  When you combine that with his unquestioned expertise and decades of experience in fundraising, you can trust that following his advice is a very wise thing to do.  I’ve implemented the Offertory Program at two parishes, one in Los Angeles and the other in Phoenix.  Because the Sunday Offertory is the financial life blood of the parish, increasing it obviously makes all the difference in the world.  You will get the training fee back many times over, and continued counsel and companionship down the road without additional fees.  I often think of the work that Bill and his firm are doing as a gift to the Church."

"The Diocese of Covington contracted with Bannon & Associates to conduct our parish offertory enhancement program in 2007 and 2008.  I have recently had the opportunity to review offertory enhancement programs provided by three other companies.  After working closely with Bannon & Associates for two years, it was evident that several critical items were not included in these proposals:  Personal involvement of key parish leadership; training of pastors and parish committees, comprehensive follow-up strategies, the emphasis on the need to give vs giving to need.  Materials were too glossy for a program that is asking parishioners to increase their giving.    If any Diocese of parish is considering exploring an offertory program, I highly recommend that Bannon and Associates be given the opportunity to present their program.  It is comprehensive, challenging, and  can be implemented within a reasonable time frame."
